Open Source Weekends - MozInfinite


I became Mozilla club captain 2 weeks ago and named it Infinite Defence. Under my club we started a weekly event initiative Open Source Weekends where we teach people about open source technologies every weekends, and this weekend we were taking WordPress workshop .Our motto is to enable people from all age groups and professions to be a part of making awesome things on the web. We teach all to develop their web literacy skills by spreading awareness and teaching the skills required to develop the web. To do so, we go to school, colleges, offices and any public spaces to teach them about the open source technologies.

In event there was more than 15 participants. I started taking about Mozilla and why Mozilla is taking web literacy initiative, what is open source technologies, how people can contribute in Mozilla then after we started Wordpress workshop in which we gave them introduction to wordpress, why use wordpress, how to install wordpress , how to make blogs, how to use plugins and many more discussion happened on security of wordpress in the end we had a great QA session and finished our first club event with the help of my team members.
